I had the opportunity to visit the local Head Start today. I saw nearly 80 students in the morning and another 20 in the afternoon. They were all very energetic and fun and I was happy to see a few faces I've noticed around the library. The director mentioned they would be learning about clothes this week and I was able to present a sock-themed storytime to go along with the curriculum.
This week my library was also conducting a system-wide survey of our Early Literacy programming so I got to see a little more about what worked for the teachers and their suggestions as well. Their comments really helped to reassure me that even though I sometimes feel guilty of "faking it," the programs I present are truly appreciated.
